The wind turbine is a complex electromechanical machine that uses various motorised mechanisms to transform the kinetic energy of the wind into electrical energy: from systems for the proper positioning of blades and nacelle to cooling systems. We develop the right motors for all applications within a wind turbine: customised for maximum energy efficiency and reliability.

Our engineers are APQP4WIND certified to ensure that our products meet the quality standards required by the industry.

 

We develop solutions with a focus on:

  • Specific corrosion protection for both onshore and offshore applications
  • Special electrical characteristics that enable the motor to work and increase its service life even though the supply current is not linear
  • Provide maximum torque density to minimise the weight the wind turbine will have to support.

CRANES

Crane motors for wind turbines require maximum progressiveness in acceleration and braking, high precision, high efficiency and reliability. The use of dual-surface DC brakes with high braking torque guarantees braking precision and reliability in emergencies.

 

At Lafert we develop permanent magnet motor and brake solutions to combine maximum power and extreme compactness. Equipped with inverters, they allow accurate control of the motor position and management of accompanied acceleration and deceleration.

 

Safety and immediacy of intervention are fundamental requirements, which is why we have developed customised solutions with the installation of special safety devices in the motor. Installation on both offshore installations and in tropical climates requires an advanced degree of protection, anti-corrosion, anti-mould treatments and special painting.
